As part of our Cedar Tree ethos, we believe that the first 5 years of a child’s life is vital to build the foundations of a happy, healthy child. 

 

We take a holistic approach and look at the needs of each individual child. We then adapt ourselves to be able to meet their needs, whether that be to provide additional support in certain areas, or encourage them to work towards their own goals and targets.

 

All children are unique, and as such, we use a range of different pedagogy styles. Our influences include The Montessori approach, the Curiosity approach and the Growth Mindset approach. These are just a few styles that inspire us as practitioners and over time, we have blended these approaches to create our own individual style of teaching and learning. 

 

Our mixed aged setting allows children to make friends and play alongside children of different ages, which has huge benefits for developing communication and language, behaviour and giving a wider understanding of personal, social and emotional development. 

 

We aim to provide a stimulating environment and an engaging curriculum which exposes children to real life learning opportunities. We combine our knowledge of the child and their interests, alongside different topics and themes, whilst always reflecting on what’s happening in the world, to create our engaging curriculum.
